I have plenty of good ideas. The execution part sometimes does not work out well. Here was my last good idea:
-let oldest small girl human invite 4 friends to come over from 5 PM tonight until 10 AM tomorrow morning for her birthday celebration.
-serve special dinner for them and let them eat it on the floor in the big humans' bedroom picnic-style.
-buy 6 pillowcases and let both small girl humans as well as the 4 friends do tie-dye.
-feed them sugary cake, popcorn and soda (IZZE so no HFCS) and let them watch a movie.
-expect that they will all sleep tonight.
-get them all up, feed them and out the door so we can make 11:30 AM Mass tomorrow.
Here's where the problems come in.
I was sick a few weeks ago with a cold right around (TMI warning) the time I should have ovulated. Because I was sick, it delayed my ovulation for a week. So my period that should have come and gone last weekend is just arriving today. This equals MAJOR CRAMPS. So major in fact that my doctor has given me a prescription for narcotics.
So I'm dealing with that while welcoming four giggling girls into my home. The meal goes o.k., things start to go downhill when the tie-dye starts and fails hopelessly by the time we get to cake. The main problem is that our house is 1100 sq ft. The six people that normally live here makes it a tight squeeze. Adding the extra people just pushes it over the edge. Or rather it pushes me over the edge. Right now I'm just praying that they go to sleep before midnight. I don't think I will be a very nice lady after midnight.
In completely unrelated news, we found out the other day that my big human's annulment went through and the Bishop approved my early confirmation so I will do First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation on December 8. I'm taking Adelaide as my Confirmation name after St. Adelaide. She's the patron saint of step-parents. And then a few days after that, the big human and I will have our marriage convalidated by the Church. And we will be fully and officially legal! Yippee!!!!
I wish there was a patron saint for sleepovers so I could ask for some help tonight!
